Extra-light refers to flavor, not calories. Extra-light olive oil—ELOO, I’ll call it—has the same number of calories per tablespoon as other olive oils, such as extra-virgin. They all contain about 120 calories per tablespoon. My friend understood that my theory predicted that the most potent weight-loss foods provided calories without flavor.
