Future Stars Feature

Every month we will be featuring one of our “Future Stars” skaters. SCI would like to introduce Tiana Young! Tiana started skating when she was just 22 months! She took an instant liking to the skates.  She started competing at age 5. Tiana is accelerating in the sport.

Tiana is inspired by skaters Michelle Kwan and Nathan Chen. She’s expressed the desire to one day follow their lead and skate on the Olympics.

Tiana enjoys being a part of the Theater On Ice team where she’s learned to entertain with theatrics! She also enjoys the thrill of competing and pushing herself to the next level. She REALLY enjoys learning new jumps.

Tiana says her main goal while skating is to have fun. When asked what gives her courage, she says “knowing that her family is in the stands and cheering as loud as they can for her.”

Next month our featured skater will be Sydney Luther!

Welcome our new Coach Andreas Johansson!

Coach Andreas started playing ice hockey in Sweden at the age of five. He played for the HK Kings in Kungsbacka, Sweden his entire youth. His passion for the sport took him to the US at the age of sixteen to play junior hockey. He played four years for the Space Coast Hurricanes here at the Iceplex, which led him to the opportunity to play NCAA Division III College hockey for Becker College and Worcester State University. At the end of his career he decided to play for Aurora University in ACHA Division II,where they had a national championship appearance.  After graduating from Aurora University with a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, he has moved back to Florida and is now coaching skate academy, hockey, and is available for private lessons!
